Glass Body These Glass-body, Conductivity electrode/cell is designed to conductivity testing application for laboratory and field use. Suitable for tap water and quality control check in water purification plant. Each type of conductivity cell has two models with k=0.1 cm-1 and k=1.0 cm-1 cell constants. When selecting a conductivity cell, check the expected conductivity of the sample and then look at the cell constants of conductivity cells. Choose a conductivity cell that covers the expected sample conductivity. The higher the conductivity value of sample, the higher the cell constant required. A conductivity cell with k=1.0 cm-1 cell constant is the most commonly used because it measures low to high conductivity.

Glass-body conductivity cells are chemical-resistant. They can be used in aqueous samples as well as in samples containing organic solvents.

Typically, a low conductivity solution is measured with a low cell having a k=0.1 cm-1 cell constant to prevent absorption of carbon dioxide (CO2) from air, which can affect the conductivity value.
